Youth Stories

We believe in elevating the voices of Alaskan youth and the communities we serve. During this time of trauma and deep emotional pain particularly for Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color, we will create the space for youth of all backgrounds to speak up, express themselves, or process their experiences by asking for voluntary submissions from our youth community. Works to be submitted can include:

  • Personal Essays

  • Open Letters

  • Short Stories

  • Poetry

  • Music

  • Art that can be digitally scanned

  • Video

The Alaska Afterschool Network will call for submissions among our partners and will post their work, their stories, here as they come in. Submissions that promote hate or contain calls to incite violence will be prohibited.

Send Submissions to Lily Tegner at ltegner@alaskachildrenstrust.org
