 Pili Queja

Afterschool Program Specialist

Pili is a Native Hawaiian living in Alaska and fell in love with working with youth and children when he was a teenager. As a counselor at an overnight faith-based camp, Pili quickly developed a passion for building strong relationships and empowering youth in Alaska. This passion stuck with him the next 15 years as he continued to work with youth and children across the country. While obtaining his degree in Youth Ministry from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, Pili spent his summers working for various organizations including: Youthworks (Philadelphia, PA) and Camp Si La Meo (Anchorage, AK). Pili’s passion for youth and children in Alaska brought him back to the state to work with Camp Fire Alaska as a Regional Supervisor and then for thread as a Professional Development Specialist.

When Pili is not working with youth, he enjoys playing music in local bands around the state. He currently works with The Vintage Retro, and Superfrequency playing at local Anchorage venues in addition to playing music at Salmonfest and other events around the state.

Pili is excited to get to work improving and enriching the lives and educations of Alaskan youth through the Alaska Afterschool Network. Over the next year, Pili will be helping the network design it’s Continuous Program Quality Improvement System.
